![]() ![]() For many people, its just masks the problem (by making them too tired to use thier brains or do anything other than sleep).and that's just a miserable existence. But the medicine may not necessarily "work" either. Therapy alone often doesnt help as bipolar disorder most likely results from a chemical imbalance (researchers are still unsure of the cause). I don't know the logistics of bi-polar disorder and I thank you for shedding a little light on the subject. so what other choice does she have besides the medicine? :ne_nau: have a family member with her at all times (unfortunately that probably ain't gone happen, people have to work), or she could stay home at all times (eventually she'll get bored), or she could try some different procedures like your co-worker did (but you said they didn't work). You could try and come up with alot of different scenarios of things that could take place to help her. What happens the next time she snaps? She could end up hurting someone or getting herself hurt. It really made me upset!īut I understand the girl has a problem that unfortunately is out of her control and indeed that is sad.Īnd even though that may have been the first case of her taking it to that extreme, it may not be the last. I couldn't see past the fact that that could've been my grandmother or hell someone elses grandmother and she's treating her like that. I don't know the logistics of bi-polar disorder and I thank you for shedding a little light on the subject.īut my initial reaction was after watching the video of that poor old lady being victimized by this young girl. None of them worked so she eventually went to the extreme of having some device implanted in her neck to control her episodes.that STILL didnt help her.Ĭlick to expand. A former co-worker of mine experimented with every bi-polar med available. I couldnt imagine not being able to control myself and my only other option was to essentially become a vegetable thru meds. If its true that she has MULTIPLE jobs, she definitely doesnt normally act out like this bcuz her ass would not be able to stay employed. Its possible that she's never acted "this bad" in the past and couldnt predict that sort of outburst towards a stranger. Seems like her case was somewhat mild and JUST moved into the realm of extreme. Based on the interview with her sister and man, it appears that this may have been the worst (or one of the worst) episodes she's ever had. So while I dont disagree with the fact that this chick has issues, I could see how she wouldnt want to be drugged up 24/7 if behavior to this extreme is not typical of her. their episodes may last a day and the next day they are fine. They could possibly go weeks or months without having an episode and live a normal life. People with bi-polar disorder dont necessarily suffer from it all day every day. It was sad because the medication made it so that they essentially couldnt live life. Couldnt hold their heads up, couldnt keep their eyes open, couldnt eat.that kind of sleepy. ![]() The medicine made them sleepy to the point that they were unable to function. But I have worked with teenagers with bi-polar disorder. I dont know the extent of this girl's side effects from the meds.
